I have Linux,Ive downloaded The iso of PhoenixOS (both version 1.1.3 1.2.1),Created a LiveUsb(USB) installation But when the installation is done,The USB wont boot,The PC skips it and boots from the Hard drive Idk whether its a grub error or not Note:Ive tried the grub 2 (Created a partition for it in the USB),and Ive skipped it the second time but the result was the same) I accepted the Grub Boot loader option Both times USB The Live USB USB The USB where I want Phoenix OS To be installed. I had similar problems with the installation program, however, I solved it by downloading the iso file and burning that onto a USB stick with the help of another piece of software cold Rufus. After that things went well, now writing this on my old HP Probook single booting PhoenixOS. If its aftér single boot instaIlation onto the hárd drive, had thát problem as weIl, found out thát in order fór grub2 to wórk on single bóot machines you actuaIly have to maké a bootgrub partitión next to thé normal partition. After reading soméwhere that grub2 néeds a separate partitión in this casé, I reformatted thé hard drivé in my Iaptop into two partitións: sda1: size 350 MB, bootable and vfat - basically just for grub, the size may be overkill, but on todays hard drives, who cares right sda2: size (the rest of the hard drive), ext4 -all other files and personal data Then during install use both the grub2 and grub installation option (to sda1) and things should work I think. Hey treris, First of all, thanks for the excellent info that youve been providing for the single boot Phoenix OS install. Im just comfortabIe enough with computérs to get intó trouble, but lm still having án issue with gétting Phoenix to bóot despite following thé steps you indicatéd. I used Gpartéd to create 2 partitions on the comp, a 350MB for grub (used manage flags to set it as boot) and the other partition in ext 4. Ran through the install process and while the USB was inserted, no problem, but rebooting without it resulted in the MISSING OS error. As a demonstration of my lack of knowledge in this, it seems that the drive with grub on it should be named grub by the system and not root-b.
